Narromine is an Agricultural town renowned for its "thermals" and excellent gliding conditions...
Narromine is located about 40 kilometres west of Dubbo in the Orana region of Central West New South Wales, Australia.
'Narromine' is derived from an aboriginal word for 'honey person'.
The Narromine Wetlands are a natural stormwater catchment area which have been reconstructed to act as a natural filter for
incoming stormwater providing habitat for birds, frogs and other wetland inhabitants.
Its walking tracks and viewing platform were projects of the Narromine Rotary Club and Narromine Shire Council.
The Museum highlights the history of aviation in the Narromine area. It began more than ninety years ago with a small locally built aircraft and continues through the ‘barnstorming’
years of the 1920s and 1930s.
The locally built, operational, Wright Brothers Model A Flyer replica is on display.

Narromine Wetlands:
Being situated near the centre of New South Wales the Narromine Shire consisting of Narromine, Tomingley and Trangie, forms the heart of the rich Macquarie Valley. The Macquarie River passes through the town as well as the Mitchell Highway which is the main road from Dubbo to the west.
Narromine Lime Grove & Cafe:
Australia's largest lime orchard.
Lime Grove is 5km from Narromine on the Mitchell Highway to Trangie.
Narromine Iris Farm:
A place to bring a picnic, with lovely shaded picnic area.
About 5km from Narromine on Parkes Road.
Over 800 different tall Bearded Iris; Louisiana and Spuria Iris and Daylilies, Cannas and Geraniums.
Fishing on the Macquarie River:
Relax and throw in a line in the tranquil settings of various reserves along the Macquarie river.

Narromine is an agricultural area with wheat, cotton, citrus, cattle, fat lambs, corn, barley, oats, sorghum, and lucerne in high production.
Gliding at Narromine:
Fantastic thermals provide great gliding conditions and make Narromine one of the three best gliding locations in the world! Hundreds of gliding enthusiasts from around the world converge on Narromine each year to make the most of these excellent conditions.

Glenn McGrath:
On Saturday June 6, 2009 a Glenn McGrath life-size Sculpture by Brett Garling of Wongarbon, was officially unveiled in Tom Perry Park, Narromine.
Commissioned by Narromine Shire Council, the sculpture depicts Glenn saluting the crowd after bowling his 500th Test Wicket.
This is a fitting tribute to Glenn McGrath – the ”boy” from Narromine who went on to become one of Australia’s all time cricket greats.
Goobang National Park:
The quaint village of Tomingley is the southern gateway to the Narromine Shire, and is adjacent to the entry of Goobang National Park.
