Egret Park Wetlands - They provide habitat for animals and plants containing a wide diversity of life, supporting plants and animals that are found nowhere else.  A haven for  amphibians, reptiles, birds, insects, and mammals.
Egret Park...
...a place to walk, a place to observe native birds, or just a peaceful place to sit and relax.
Egret Park wetland is located within Keswick Estate on the Eastern side of the Dawson Park Greyhound Track and can be accessed through a pedestrian gate located between Dawson Park and the Village Life Retirement complex.
Although serving as a recreation area used by local residents and visitors, the primary purpose of this wetland is to treat the urban stormwater by removing litter and other pollutants before the stormwater enters the Macquarie River.
Demonstrating Dubbo City Council's commitment to stormwater management this urban wetlands provides a range of community and environmental benefits.

By retaining the stormwater from rains it reduces the amount of water-borne pollutants that reach the natural waterways.  The wetlands absorb pollutants and improve water quality.

Wetlands are considered the most biologically diverse of all ecosystems.  They provide habitat for animals and plants containing a wide diversity of life, supporting plants and animals that are found nowhere else.  A haven for  amphibians, reptiles, birds, insects, and mammals.

Invariably the wetlands become an important recreation area and educational resource.
